A married woman was strangled to death in a dispute over paying the installment of a group loan in Bandihuli village of Baheri police station area of Darbhanga district. The deceased has been identified as Guddi Kumari (27), who was preparing for IAS. Police have taken the deceased’s mother-in-law Shubhkala Devi into custody and started questioning her in this case.
The deceased’s father Sitaram Kumar said that his son-in-law Ganga Prasad Ram works in a private job abroad. His daughter Guddi Kumari has two sons and a daughter. Sitaram Kumar said that the in-laws had taken many group loans, and there were frequent disputes over repaying the installments. During this dispute, today mother-in-law Shubhkala Devi, sister-in-law Poonam Devi and Rita Devi strangled Guddi Kumari to death. Sitaram Kumar also said that his daughter Guddi was preparing to become an IAS while staying at home and she had a strong desire to study.
The Baheri police station in-charge said that as soon as the information of the incident was received, the police reached the spot. Then the body has been sent to DMCH for post-mortem. The deceased’s mother-in-law Shubhkala Devi has been taken into custody and is being questioned. The police have planned further action after receiving the application from the victim’s family. The police say that appropriate legal action will be taken against the accused only after a complete investigation of the case.
